Rim/Tyre Sizing was created by JeffWray
Hello, I'm new to the site so sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section.

Basically I've bought some 15 x 7 inch modular steel rims for my Jimny and didnt realise how much wider they are than my original wheels. I have no lift kit but would like to eventually get one.

My question is can I put 215/75 R15 tyres on these rims and can I get away a 2" lift kit rather than a 3" as that seems too expensive?
Or can I get away with no lift kit?

Cheers

Wheel/tyre combo will work fine. I have not used that size on mine but I don't see why it would not work with a 2" lift. :)

I have 2" TrailMaster lift and this rim/tyre size combo and I had to trim my front bumper to make it work. But, It really was a light trim and my 215/75 Kumho MT's are noticeably larger than my 215/75 Grabber type tires.

thanks for the help, did you have to use any wheel spacers especially for the front steering and extended archs to make it work?

Also forgot to mention my Jimny is a 64 plate making it the face lift, I think I read some where about the front arches being a different shape or something along those lines.

I never really understood what "xy plate" means, but i guess it is the "newer style" bumper. I have older style bumper on mine.

No spacers, I used 15x7J -20 offset rims and 215/75R15 Kumho Road Venture MT's. There was a bit of rubbing on outer sides of bumper when wheels were turned all the way to outside. First I trimmed it a bit and it worked well but then I trimmed the hell out of that bumper and never looked back

Ahh I think mine are ET00 so I'll probably need spacers then, any tips for cutting the bumper?
