The car now has two new brake cylinders on the back, necessitating a replacement pipe too due to issues in fitting.
The garage couldn’t find anything wrong with the handbrake, re sticking on, either on the last visit or this one. It was stuck on what seems like the rear right when we collected it both times so I assume it needs to be parked for a little while. They obviously had the drums off when fitting the new brake cylinders but apparently didnt spot any issues. Is a sticking handbrake something experienced by anyone and what’s the solution please
My non-Jimny-specific experience with sticking handbrakes is that it is nearly always down to lubrication. The fix would be to lubricate the cables, and also the operating arms at the business end.
For the former, I usually find that putting a certain amount of silicone (ie liquid) lubricant down the cables is good enough.
For the latter, I would recommend copper-based grease and a certain amount of cleaning/disassembly if you are inclined to fix the problem once and for all. Or, if you don't want to invest the time, a few very sparing drops of oil on the brake operating arm at the backplate might help -- though you run a risk anytime you get liquid lubricant near brake shoes, so be very careful if you go that route.
I don't think anything will need replacing, if that is your concern-- seized or broken parts would present different symptoms.
As a Jimny update, we’ve had a banging noise at the back end for a little while, occurring when going over poor or poorly repaired road surfaces. We’ve not been able to trace it so far, but, a garage today said they thought it was the rear body to chassis mountings. The receptionist initially told me it was the bushes but when we later visited the mechanic thought it may be body corrosion around the mounting point, and it might need the body lifting from the chassis to repair, though they wouldn’t do welding themselves. That’s a huge job and might be terminal for the car. I’ve this photo of the area. Is this something that is weldable without removing the body?
It would be a shame to lose it at this point and I’ve done a fair bit of wax protection underneath this year.
Hard to say from that angle but it is usually the case that welding usually needs to get worse before it gets better, you never really know until you start peeling back. That said I would be inclined to try and keep it going it being an early one.

Does anyone kindly have and can post, or can share a link to where I can find, an exploded diagram of the rear bodywork construction around the point shown in the photo posted above. I'm trying to understand what's going on and what the challenges will be.
but I am struggling to see how my photo from under the rear wheel arch relates to those items, and how they relate to each other and what order they are fitted. Some guidance on this would be very much appreciated.
