Keep hold of her and buy bigger tyres before she changes her mind!

 I am sure she would change her mind if she knew the cost, I can justify I at the moment also,

Dirtydogz I think I am gong to leave the spacers for now and see how I get on, they are a little tight at the top so have about another 5mm until they are seated properly, have not had a chance to use it much to help them seat in also I guess the springs will bed in a bit. I'm quite liking the extra lift actually :woohoo:

I will have a little update later in the week as I am in the process of fitting some homemade rooflights :P

I need to think about getting some spacers to push the wheels out a bit now also but think these will have to wait until next month as it has been expensive couple of weeks.

So I made a start on the roof lights today, unfortunately I didn’t have time to wire them up but they are fitted and I am really pleased with them especially as they have cost me no more than £40.

So just before Christmas I went to order some of the X-eng X-lite roof lights until I realized they were £35 per light and wanting 4 it would have been very expensive, I thought I would do a quick google for reviews and alternatives and a couple of people had stated that they were simply a 12v halogen bulb in a nice housing, well this got me thinking about making my own when I found the time.

Funny enough I was in B&Q getting a few bits and happened to notice some cool looking exterior lights reduced to clear for £30, the lights took 12v halogen bulbs and being exterior lights are nice a sealed up. they came with 20w bulbs but I have changed these to 50w bulbs with a 36deg beam (again these were in the sale at £1 a bulb) I will however change the 2 center bulbs to 50w 10deg beam to produce light further in the distance and use the 2 outer bulbs to throw light to the sides.

Anyway as they say a picture says a thousand words....

How they started

Bottom of the original mount ready to be removed

And removed

Fixing brackets made up from some aluminum corner bar I had kicking around

And voila... all fitted

Yes some of you may not like them mounted directly to the roof but personally I prefer them to be tight to the roof and didn’t want them on a separate bar. A lot of the lanes locally get quite overgrown to the closer to the roof the better. The wires run directly under the roof through rubber grommets to everything should be nice and watertight.

I hope to get them all wired up later in the week so will get some updated pictures then along with some comparison shots in the dark. :) :)
