Haha! Wonderful!
You sound just like my Danish friends, their DKK is doing fine.
NOK took a dive today as well, at least for the dollar.
Supermarkets and pick up point is just around the corner some 200m but, the story is so good we better not tell anyone
Wonder why my local parts dealer didn't find it.

Wonder why my local parts guy never found this, he should have had access to the same database as you.

Finally got the transfer case back in the car after fine checking bearing play and the rest of the case and changing the 2 bearings that had any play in them.
Still no change. So then it must be the gears themselves that make the noise. They make a whine anyway so noise when doing a re-gearing to lower the ratios is unavoidable. Guess I'll have to live with the noises and as they haven't gotten significantly worse over 50000km I guess there is no immediate danger of it breaking down.
Looking back at my history I see that I senced that the only thing that helped a bit for the noise was to swap the worn chain for a new one. But once the chain was run-in for the after market gears the noise was back.
This, and how there is no noise with an original geared case, says to me that the chain sprockets is the culprit in the Trail gear kit.
I guess I would not recommend this kit unless you really need it having 235's or bigger tyres.
Having used the car now for a few months with the original gearing I think it would cope with the 235's if you have a 1.6 and carry little or no load, and do little or no offroading. Clutch was smelly at times doing mountain overpasses with load wich no not happen with a bit lower gears.
I think that 235's on a stock gearing and stock engine is boring. Make a very powerless car with a too high low range.
Might consider doing all the axle/diff/gearbox swaps needed to make a SJ/sammy transfer fit on a '05 or newer, if I had a donor a car or a thicker wallet.
