As Sponnie says it's horses for courses I suppose. You can't please all the people all the time.

My missus hates the thought of it too - but mainly 'cos she's only 5'2'' tall and will need a ladder to get into it

The articulation thing is the next task I need to prove to people. Even with minimal lift you can get great articulation, even if you have to limit suspension travel in some with bump stops...

I'm building my truck for extreme offroad too, and even if I need to compromise my articulation some(which I doubt), I'm aiming at full "oil barrel flex" with my Jimny, meaning I can drive one wheel on a barrel, and the rest still touching the ground(this can be done even with SJ's running yota axles and smaller wheelbase, so it's easier with Jimny's). And eventually I'm going with toyota axles and full lockers, so added axle width will increase the flex slightly(maybe some RR radius arms too), and they say lockers compensate flex, so I will not have any problems!

EDIT: Has anyone implemented some quick release system for an anti-roll bar? I drive a lot on road too, so I wanna keep the thing in place. I originally planned to unbolt it from the axle mounts and turn the whole bar up and away from the axle when I would go offroad, but it seems like it ain't that easy. Maybe it's just easier to remove it completely when I need...

Thanks! Most people just try to bash me down because I like to build my trucks slightly different than what they are used to, so it's nice at least some of you have an open mind. :)

BTW, I see you're running 33's too, so have you broken many CV's or shafts? I'm scared to take my Jimny offroad with stock axles and those tires until I get the yota axles  Well, I even couldn't just yet, because I have a sammy t-case sitting in the garage because I don't have 6.5 gears for it yet. But when I get the crawler box installed, can I take it offroad some?

Me personally have been fine with the CV's and half shafts, been to about 5 play day sites and so far ok, although my bearings and passenger side kingpin bearings needs replacing at the moment

Good luck with the build..

Today we did some flex tests. And with anti roll bar connected, we managed to get front tires rub slightly on the bumper, so a little more trimming is needed, but no other issues whatsoever! :) That's with those tires, but if I had some boggers or similar aggressive tires, I would have to show some more hammer to foot wells, but again just some minor adjusting...

BUT when I tried disconnecting the anti roll bar, there was a little bit too much travel in at front, so in order to drive offroad without the a-r bar I need to limit travel in, but just very slightly. Also it became apparent that it's gonna be impossible to have "barrel flex" with stock radius arms, so I will swap them for some longer ones.

The anti roll bar is connected in every picture.

"Only" some 15" to barrel flex!

No problems with rear tires.

About the same articulation when lifting a rear tire.

I need to limit the front in travel to what it is in this pic.

And yes, I did also tests with different wheel angles too. :)

Modifying a Jimny is almost too easy for a guy that's been playing with SJ's and Samurai's for many years, LOL! B)
