Gr8 looking Jim

My jeep is standard at the moment and I have just return from Iceland

if I wanted to add/run 33's on road with some off roading in the future
What would be the stages to do this ?
Many thanks in advance

Some minor hammer work was needed to make room for them, but now there's no rubbing against anything when driving on road.
Next job is flex test, and after that's been sorted out, I'm gonna install some rubber fender flaps along the arches, because those tires stick out a good amount!

Well, I would first get a suspension lift kit, 3" minimum. Body lift would help too but I don't personally like to lift the body, because I can make room for the tires by cutting and hammering, so the center of gravity stays as low as possible. Adjustable panhard rods are also something you need to re-center the axles after the lift. And you end up with a silly looking truck!
After that get yourself the tires you like, and I would advise getting a set of 8" wheels with -22 offset, because those are perfect for the Jim. Wheels have more room to turn with those, and the tires won't stick out of the arches much.
Here's a reference pic of mine. I took this while I was swapping the 8" wheels to 10" ones. 8" at the rear, and wider one up front. Easy to see how much more the tire sticks out with the wider wheel.
Then just start fitting the tires, and you can see where you have to start cutting and hammering! I first bolted the tires under the truck, and marked the cut lines with tape like this.
After you have cut the plastics, it's easy to see what you have to do to sheet metals. Inner arches need to go at the rear. Just carefully drill those spot welds, and rip the thing off!
Front fenders need some cutting too, but a pair of sheet metal shears will take care of that in no time!
Before:
After:
I have used an angle grinder to cut a small piece off, and then welded it back together. After that(what isn't done yet in the pic) you need to hammer that edge where all the sheet metals come together level with the inner arch and you're done! Then you can start testing how the tires have room to turn in there, and if they catch still, use a BIG hammer to smash those corners in some more, and repeat as long as there's enough room!
Finished product! Time for test driving, and after that some more hammering if needed!
Keep the anti roll bar fitted, because it limits the suspension travel some, so you will have less problems making the tires fit in there.
And what it cost, well that depends on how good deals you are able to make when buying the lift kit and a set of tires! Also, after these steps you probably want to look into getting an SJ transfer case with lower gearing if you wanna go offroading, so that will cost some more £££...
