Can i swap m13a non vvt with m16a vvt ?( update )
It seem my jimny is non vvt
The problem is our market (Middle east ) only have swift m16a vvt or m15avvt
so i Think if i replace my jimny ecu and wire harness non vvt with Swift m16a vvt ecu and wire harness it will be possible
My idea it will work or no? there is any problem ?
Give your advice what i should do ?
The choices that i get till know
1- Swap only the block m13a block with m16a vvt block
2- Swap the engine vvt and connect cam sensor wire from the front of the head on a non vvt to the rear on a vvt
3- swap the engine and replace the ecu and wire harness for swift vvt ( maybe it not work )
if have idea tell me
which of 3 choices you prefer
i went to the market
I found Hundreds of VVt m15a engine from swift for each 400 $
also I found only one ( only one ) engine come from export of VVt m18a engine it cost 775 $ ( only one in our market )
and i found one I found engine of VVt m16a engine it cost 820 $

@j999pre wrote: I would fit the full vvt engine and see how it runs. If you don't like then swap the head for the non vvt jimny one. That way you may not need to do the head swap which would save a lot of work.
I don't think your Jimnys non vvt ecu will like the vvt engine. It doesn't have the ability to advance the timing in vvt form leading to overheating and timing issues.

As long as they are both the same engine code save the capacity part. Ie: an M13a head on an M16a block.
