Tyre balancing beads

I have mentioned in other threads that despite changing all bushes and bearings on the whole of the front and rear axles, I still have suffered the classic Jimny steering wheel wobble. If I provoked it, I could get it into full on death wobble.

When I had my tyres fitted from purchasing them, they were obviously balanced and I had no wobble, but for a short time only.

I have put balancing beads in one of my front tyres only and just driven it. The reduction in steering wheel wobble is massive.

On my next set of days off I will do the other three wheels and report back. I fully expect to have solved the wobble.

I hope that this will be a solution for everyone who knows their truck is mechanically in top condition but still have wobble.

I think it is to do with not only the tyre always being in balance but also that the weight is in the right place, not just one side of the wheel.

Very interesting! Where did you get them from, how much did they cost and how do you fit them?
