Odd idea for winter was created by j999pre
Ok. I need my car for winter at very short notice. (seconds)

Therefore an iced windscreen is a big problem.

Is there an option of a second battery, a solar panel and a small 12v heater?

I don't want to be tethered to the mains our have anything to unplug.

Any thoughts anyone?

Cheers

Get one of those ice covers for the windscreen, just lift it off and drive away.

Solar panels don't work in the winter.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Wind turbine it is then :cheer:

I have an insulated sheet I use but if it trains then freezes its a mare.

I have solar on the house and yes its not as good as in the summer it still works to some degree. The heater would only need to luck in at freezing temps then off again and the battery would get some charge on the way to work.

On the old mini you could fit a heat exchanger on to the manifold to heat the washer jet water .
Maybe not in seconds but certainly helped clear the windows fast

you need some thing like this 271088836440 on ebay its to aid the engine warm up quicker and also gives you heat as it sits in the heater box

or get a garage to put it in if you have off road parking may be a car port
