i love my little jimny but not loving the lack of power, most of my miles are towing a small trailer with a dirtbike on the back so not alot of offroad, i have read that the swift gti engine can be used as a replacment, what other parts are needed to do the swap? thanks for any advice given

It depends, whether you have the G13BB or the M13A engine.

Not sure what exactly to do. But if it's mainly because of the trailer. Why not consider the 1.7 TD Isuzu instead ? Way better torque and fuel economy.

to be honest its slow without the trailer, i think the engine is old and worn and will need replacing soon anyway so thought the gti engine would be a good replacement

If i'm thinking right, the swift gti is no more powerful than the jimny engine, just due to the extra weight of the jimny this makes it slower/more labour on the engine, so you would see no improvement with that engine swap

The 1.6 vit would be a good option or as said about a deasil conversion?
