And what comes to GTI engine, there's a lot of things that are better compared to the Jimny engine, and the internals are said to be the strongest that Suzuki have ever manufactured. The GTI bolts right on to the Jimny transmission, but that's about it. You need to change all the electrics involved, and that's a bit of work hooking it all up! Basically you can swap any engine in with almost the same amount of work at the point you start messing with the engine management electrics, so the easiest swaps are those that still use the Jimny's own cylinder head and electrics, or another suzuki engine that would run on the same ecu(is there any? I don't know).

You just need an adapter to fit the 1600cc block to the Jimny transmission, and might need to swap in another starter that fits the adapter plate. I haven't done this myself(I've been thinking about it a lot though), but from what I have read, all the needed parts are available so it doesn't require any fabricating, so it's basically bolt on after you have gathered all the parts.nate78 wrote: i have and i asked the question about the 1.6 engine, hopefully he will be along shortly, i know i keep banging on about the swift engine, but from what read the internals in that engine are stronger than the standard jimny engine,

1.6 16v is the way to go then, so best to use the jimny head, transmission with the vitara block, the 'skinny starter' id better start searching for parts, thanks
