JIMNY BATTERY was created by SUGAR DELTA
Hi folks.
I don't own a jimny yet but had a look around one last week.
I didn't realise the battery is so tiny on them!
Can anyone tell me what amp the standard battery is and is it possible to put a higher ampage battery on them as I want to run high power radio equipment in mine when I buy it.

Cheers folks B)

The standard fit is a type 157 (B33)

45AH 330CCA with small Japanese terminals

You can get a physically bigger battery in the space (with more capacity), if you can't get a small terminal version you will need to fit standard terminal clamps.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Cheers for the reply, all I need is around 60 amps.

I will see if they do a larger capacity type 157,because it sounds a pain changing to fit standard terminal clamps. :(

Seems 45 is the limit for these slim batteries.
I would be interested to know if anyone else on the forum has put a higher ampage battery in that small gap :)

for high powerd audio a second battery and split charge system would be a better way to go

have a look at an optima yellow top
expensive but you get a deep cycle battery for running amps together with a cca of 460a for starting and will fit in the standard jimny location
