I'm looking to buy a nearly new set of wheels and tyres from a 2023 Jimny, to fit on my 2016 SZ3. I know they will fit but does anyone know if the TPMS will work or do I need to change the sensors? Is there a reset button on the 2016 SZ3. Usually if the warning light comes on I just sort the pressures and it rights itself.

If the sensor tells you a pressure is wrong and increasing the pressure to normal cancels the reading ,all is well.

Remember, at this time of the year, you will observe fluctuations pressure due to low air temperature.

Thanks but I'm trying to find out if the TPMS sensors on wheels from a 2023 jimny will work if the wheels are put on a 2016 SZ3.

If you need to buy a new sensor, for whatever reason, then the cars computer will realise it has a new sensor and act accordingly.

More out of curiosity than anything else (neither of my Jimnies has TPMS), what, in this case, is "accordingly"?

Will it refuse to communicate with the new sensor until it is registered - or - will it recognize the new sensor and "adopt" it without making a fuss?

I don't think this is correct (about to change TPMS). The TMPS system recognizes the sensor after driving a short distance at speeds above 25KM/H (there are no manual nearby, so it's not accurate). If the previous sensors have SUZUKI-compatible "software", then everything will happen automatically after a trip on the highway.
