Watch this especially around the 5 minute area. It rather demonstrates that a jimny is somewhat in its own class due to its relative lack of size enabling it to follow different lines than other vehicles.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Not that they are mutually exclusive, you are allowed to have both...
However, as capable as lockers are. They are normally not allowed for trialling, and would ruin your turning circle to the point you likely couldn't drive most courses.
I'd say the same is true for most UK green lanes. While there might be a few extreme exceptions where a locker would be handy. You wouldn't want to drive constantly with the locker(s) in and the fact you already have TCS, means the occasions a locker would be needed are likely few and far between.
What lockers don't do is offer stability. Having 2 wheels in the air can make a vehicle feel horrid to drive, even if the lockers enable it to still turn all the wheels. It is also less comfy with the wheels crashing down impacting the ground.
For what Dr Robin appears to use their vehicle for, I'd personally suggest good suspension would be a much better investment than lockers.

That's an old video. But more than anything shows up different drivers, lines and wheelbases. Not really a very good example of lockers vs suspension. Due to the other variables at play.

My point was more that if you understand your vehicle and have seat time with it and really it's seat time over everything but if you do then even a relatively stock jimny is rarely found wanting. Even within the boundaries of a trial section a jimny has line options that a defender doesn't simply because it's so much smaller. The same is true for me on circuit yes my boys m440i is faster in every way but it needs more real estate and has more gravity to deal with so in reality the gap between us is not as big as the spec sheet might imply. And i also have about 15 years more seat time in my jimny than he does as he doesn't keep a car that long.
