Re:Gen4 Workshop Manual
I guess it could also be the firewall, although you say it stops all web access which is more consistent with the first item apparently.
To check the file system, open a Command Prompt with Admin privileges and type in " SFC /scannow "

As a point of interest. Is there a port number that should be open on the firewall so that I can check it on McAfee.

I have set up ready to copy files into wwwroot folder but before I do so, can I just check wwwroot properties....and sharing.
Properties are showing as read only. Is this ok?
Sharing....As computer split between admin and 2 users do I need to add Roger as a user?
I will also double check that McAfee has Port 80 open as advised.
Sorry about this Martin, its been a long time since I did any computer stuff.

read only should be fine.
Sharing - it should have set them to IIS Users automatically.
If you have two users PLUS admin, make sure all the installation and copying etc is done from the Admin account.

HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorised
Something to do with not having permission because of the ACL (access control list) configuration or encryption settings for the resource of the web server.
Back to the drawing board for something different to try perhaps later.

The files have been transferred and are all now in the wwwroot file
I have tried both http://locahost/top.html and http://localhost/top/toppage.html
Both generate the HTTP Error 404.0 not authorised.
I have checked permissions and sharing exactly as for wwwroot.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thankyou
