It would be ideal to convert the CD based version to run from a MySQL database with a PHP/HTML front end.
Wonder what would happen if Suzuki were approached with this?
If red tape will be an issue, stuff that - We build our own service manual database. With all the guys on here and all the stuff they do it should not be an issue to get something populated pretty quickly.
- Searching Facilities
- Print / Export (if required)
- Granular add/edit permissions
- User groups, user account control and audit trails for logins, option to activate/deactivate user accounts
- Etc.....

I have received two grovelling apologies from Suzuki GB. Basically I can have my money back and that's it.
So, unless someone who is far more computer literate than Viv or myself can come up with a practical way to con the info out of my, apparently, worthless cd, I will be be taking my money back whilst I give the parts dept . my dirtiest look.

Thanks for this Martin,
Just copying the file over now, being a bit slow as I'm using my old DVD rom in a caddy with USB connection only. At first I couldn't copy the files over as the wwwroot folder was Read Only. I couldn't turn off the Read Only from the Properties, I had to go into Security settings on the folder first to give permissions to Users, then switch oof Read Only.
I hope it works for me

Thank you Martin. I will hang onto the disc and Viv will do the business later.
Just as a matter of interest, how many forum members bought a disc?

I dont know how many. I bought the early version and also subscribe to the online service. I use the dvd version for initial lookup and occasionally look at the subscription version to check for updates.

Hi Martin...Its Viv (Rogers other half)
Have just tried to set this up and it all seemed to go very well.....until the last bit.
When I went to Internet Explorer and typed localhost/top.html I got the following error message
INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND
I did check and the files were in the inetpub\wwwroot file.
Any suggestions please of what I should check.?
Also should all of the sub folders under the Internet Information Services folder be checked as I noticed that by default the FTP box remained clear.
Thank you
Viv

I tried various ways without succes and as I could not then even connect to any websites I did a system restore to take things back to first thing this morning. All working and ready to try again now.
One question. I use McAfee Livesave and wondered if this could be causing any problems with the firewall?
Viv
