Recovery adapter. was created by Lambert
Whatcha. I have been watching YouTube and the Americans with their 2 inch receiver hitces for which they have fittings that allow for a shackle. My tow bar is demountable with the coupling holder bolted to the actual bar. I'm thinking of having a lump of solid bar with a suitable hole for a big shackle that I can swap in if I'm intending to go play. It would have the benefits of being higher than the tow bar coupling and being solid and bolted in is unlikely to be the weakest link. Does this sound logical?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThere is a variety of these on the market, the UK seems to frown on them (I'd have one).

That's the thing but mine would have to be smaller to fit in between the welded flanges on my towbar.

Suddenly realised that I had not actually answered the question. A tow bracket is not designed to take shock loads as generated in exuberant snatch recoveries, so the policy is that a bridle rope is attached in some way directly to the chassis rails so that the energy in the recovery is dissipated throughout the chassis.
