They're designed to stay on for a minimum of 8 seconds to avoid looking like they've just been flashed. Didnt prevent a minibus pulling out in front of me though!

I think the red light is like the one on the early ecoboost- engine failure in 3,2,1 too late! I'd much rather have a nice needle to glance at, or even a degrees C to keep watching.

Clearly I'm in a minority though, or the marketeers at Suzuki would fit one instead of, for example,a shaky steering wheel when I change lanes and a red "CRASH IMMINENT DANGER DANGER!!!" sign every time I slalom through parked cars.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Thank you for reminding me!. I'll take the odb reader from Jimny 1, and prop my phone with Car Scanner in the dashboard tray, now I do not need the phone for Waze any more!!

Lots of dials to look at there :-)

All car's including trucks fitted with "autonomous braking" do the DEATH, DEATH waring when going around bends with parked cars, some worse than other's not just the Jimny. "Lane departure", use the indictor when changing lanes helps.

Since the mid 1990's many cars, despite looking like they have a temp gauge don't. They essentially show the same as the warning light; cold, normal, hot. They just fool you into looking like a gauge. But only actually have 3 positions.
