I run a home made one on the front,im only on 195 80 15 muds so dont have high clerance,ive oftern thought that it sometimes hinders me a bit but after been on more than 4 months and lots of laning trips the marks on it prove its worth,you never know whats hidden in the mud snow etc.id at least go for a weld on one thats what ive got on my rear diff.

Its mounted on the trailing arm bolts,back is a bit different and its not as exposed as the front,just for ease i fitted the weld on one.
