We are only talking about a scallop cut from the side flange about 1/8 deep, just enough to stop it rattling. It was one of those Towtrust or Towsure ones with the big side flanges that bolt to a crossbar. I doubt if it weakened it enough to worry about. I suspect that the back of the chassis would break off first.
