also on the road up from church houses onto ruddland rigg theres so makeshift road closed signs but they dont look the real thing, and took them to be aload of rubbish,

Good stuff B) We'll be going up Bank Foot steps and down to Church Houses. That ford is great - have you done it before? There's a certain way to cross it, especially useful if there's been heavy rain.

Probably not even taken 0.1mm but now runs smoothly and freely.

I tried it cos there is a flap that acts like a brake but it only marginally improved things. There is a lot of drag where the belt rubs against the bracket anyway and the belt tends to ride forward and lock up at the end of the slot in the bracket.

Yeah up the steps is always the better way, looking forward to it now

No I've never done that ford before, one of the reasons I like leaning with other people you learn new things all the time

I'd spent most my day in rwd so I just went to crawl through the the front end dropped away and it shocked me so I reversed out and went through in 4wd, I just went straight through the middle, do you pan out to the left then come across at an angle to make it shallower?

Bet it was a bit of a shock lol There's actually a raised section under the water. Don't know what direction you came from, but the way we'll be doing it on the day you set off straight across aiming for the tree on the opposite bank - then when you get near it you swing a left towards the exit. If you cut straight across you drop off the track into deeper water - I've seen people do it that way but after heavy rain you'd be in big trouble. I only know coz when I first did it the guy leading knew about it - there's no way of knowing otherwise.
