Dunno how much wider it is but I can measure the width of my SJ front axle tomorrow for you if you like. I changed mine to SJ for the same reason and also that you can buy chromo 4340 shafts and cvs for the sj.

You must be going some to keep blowing Jimny front diffs, cv's yes but diffs, Crickey!
How are you doing it? Flying the front in the air and landing with the front wheels spinning at full chat?
If so, there is an easier way of fixing the problem but it involves you changing not the car changing.
What size tyres are you using when you do this and what tread pattern. I have used mine at our club and even with Little Miss Dangerous (my Mrs with no mechanical sympathy) driving and abusing it with nearly 30" Malatesta Kaimans on it we have only managed to do one Cv in all the years we've had it!
I know that are only 2 pin in the front. Have you asked someone like Rockwatt if pegging them is possible and if it will stop this. Or can the parts be heat treated or criogenically treated to make them last longer. I don't know if this works with gears etc. Worth an ask though. Probably cheaper than getting an ARB just for strength.
Adjusting driving style is cheaper though. I know people who won the Scorpion Challenge in a Landrover running standard shafts and cvs. So driving style counts for a lot and it doesn't mean less success.
