TINTED WINDOWS?? was created by Green
I've got a black 51 plate jimny. Mostly use it to go shooting with the old man so it quite often has bits and pieces in the back that I don't want certain others seeing!! Has anyone got any photos of their black jimny with black tinted rear windows? Or any ideas on prices of getting it done? Going to ring round at the weekend hopefully to get some costs.
Cheers,
Andrew

The alternative is to get some window blinds from ebay. Thats what I have in my Jimny (see pictures in the gallery)

A friend of mine is a pro tinter, but bit far from you.
He would charge £30 per side window, and £60 for the boot.
Hope this helps on prices.
I shall be getting mates rates on mine soon!

Preston is a bit of a trek! But that's great of you to offer. And thanks for the prices, I've got something to compare to now.
Will let you all know how I get on if I get round to doing it...it may end up having to wait until the New Year.

Apologies I have posted this before, I tried DIY but it ended up a bit like this!

Haha, love it. I wonder how many people are doing that this time of year! I have heard about tinting windows DIY before but I want a decent job done of it and dont mind paying the money as long as its reasonable!

My blue jimny has blue tinted rear windows, they're not dark enough, can you add another layer of tint?
I also saw some tint spray paint for windows, I might consider that.

I did mine myself using normal signwriters vinyl which i got from a local place 1m x 2m was a tenner. I tried both the wet application method and the dry method approach on the outside and it bubbled both times, so i gave up and ripped it off and gave up.
Then after mentioning it to mate who's missus works at a pro signwriters i booked in and got them to do it for me. The girls there applied it to the inside of the windows rather than the outside and used a heat gun to get it spot on, no bubbles, no splits and it hasnt peeled 2 months later. They also did the rear window with perforated vinyl - black on the outside and white on the inside (i havent got any pics of that up yet) The sign writers were Mendip signs - www.thefarmsignshop.co.uk obviously my price was mates rates but it wasnt that expensive ;-)
Pics of both my efforts and the proper job are on

Hi mate i got a 10m role of limo black tint off Ebay for £6 and did it myself. I made some paper templates of the windows then cut the tint to same shape & size. Used the water spritzer method and it went on quite well with no bubbles . I would have a go yourself to be honest and save a lot of money. For £6 and a 10m role you can afford to do a bit of practice.
Thanks
James
