They all look descent guys! I've got to be getting on this tinted windows now! I think I'll take your advice and give it a go myself first. What exactly am I looking to buy from ebay? And did you apply it to the inside/outside? I want to get the rear windows as black as possible to people cant be seeing what I have got inside my Jimny
This is very similar to what i got mate Ebay Item number: 330552582435. Its very cheap in comparison to getting it done, its worth a go. Get yourself a water spray bottle a squeegy a Stanley knife blade. You fit this to the inside. Make sure you do it when the window and the tint is a warm temperature.
Have a search on youtube this will show you exactally what to do step by step.
Thanks
James
Great, cheers for that James. I'll take a look at that over the weekend hopefully. Yeah you are right, for the money it is worth a go and I suppose if I make a hash of it, it isnt so expensive to try again! (Note; I almost certainly will make a hash of it!!) Only problem I can see...when is there going to be a 'warm' temperature again?? lol
yes your right about the weather but it dosnt have to be warm to be honest.Just take ya time if you use a very weak solution of fairy liquid and water you can apply the tint and move it about easily then just squeegy the water out from the middle and this drags all the air out then use a heat gun or hair dryer to dry it and it will stick fine,
Cheers for the tips! Will order it over the weekend probably. One quick question though...did you tuck you little bit of excess film under the window rubben or did you cut it exactly to the shape of the window so the film butts up to the window rubber with now gap?
good one mate i left it about 1cm bigger all way around so it goes under the seals ect. so fom the outside it looks perfect.
Let me know how you get on mate.
Also, I just thought...what about the heating strips in the rear window?? Did you just cover them over on the inside with the film? If yes then have you had any problems with the heat?
Yes straight over the heat strips, how ever i can remove my rear window because i have the removable hard top if you notice so it was easy to do. BUt its still not hard on the windows that are fitted. Iv had no issues at al with the heat.
Here is a picture the day i did it. This was my 1st mod i think. I have since taken the front tints off though i didnt wnt to get done by the police and im too old to be a boy racer now.
Brilliant. Well I'll give it a go then. I'm gonna get it ordered this week so I can have a crack at it next weekend when I've got some time off. Actually looking forward to it now, hope it turns out alright! I'll let you know how I get on.

Years ago I got stopped, told to follow the police car to a check point and then they impounded my car, I had to remove the dark tint before the car could go back on the road.
Since however I have had a very light tint to the front windows on my GV, but after several years with just a very light tint on the front, i've since removed it and my ageing eyes notice the difference in the dark.
My job involves 70K miles a year so I keep everything 100% legal'ish.
