Thought I would see if I was 1st to fit it! So here are the photo's to prove it!!!!;)

someone has too much time :)

I'll come clean! I have a spare diff at work that I was planning to use for the Lockright and I'd arranged for the lockright to be delivered to work!:) So I didnt actually strip the diff off the Jimny!

Its all fitted but I wont be swapping the diffs over till the weekend!

I will be making this a standard shop item so that you can have "next day, duty paid" deliveries! However, I am shortly off on my holidays so I will be closing the shop for a couple of weeks and although the family will be at home, I will not be ordering from the states until I return to ensure I am around to receive the delivery.

Thanks Martin - Received, much appreciated!

Don't think I'll be anywhere near as quick at fitting it as Bigcridy though, that's keen - even with a spare diff!

Cheers

Fitting the lockright was easy. It's getting the half shafts out that I'm not looking forward to as I've never stripped the back axle of the Jimny.

On the link I've seen on here it shows that you have to disconnect the brake pipe unions from the wheel cylinders so you can pull the whole lot out. Does anyone know if this is the only way to get the rear half shafts out or can you do it another way?

i think it is im affraid, but dont worry about it, best thing you can do is wd40 the brake unions, and buy a proper brake union spanner, not an open ender, then ive got one of the one man bleeding kits, top up the fluid and pump away :)

Unfortunately, this is the only way of removing the half shafts. A good slide hammer is needed. I managed to sheer 2 prop shaft bolts and a crown wheel bolt but luckily once the pressure was released I managed to remove them and I had spare bolts from my old Vitara! Air tools make life alot easier! Good luck - I'm sure you won't need it!

Looks like I best get the Jimny up to work then. I was going to do it at home on me back!:)

At least if I do it at work I have all the correct equipment there. Luckily all the unions are brand new as I only replaced the pipes at the back end of last year and the Jimny is off the road at tho mo so they shouldn't have corroded.
