Aww man that sucks. Head gasket is not as big a job as it sounds even if you have the garage do it.

Dave you have too much in it not to fix him up
If it was me i would consider changing
Wiring loom ecu ect and fit an M series engine in it

Yes, just had a few Stellas and an hour in the hot-tub... I'll book it in for the head gasket with local friendly garage at the end of my road...
And order a genuine thermostat and an idle control valve to go in at the same time...
And they can fix the power steering too!
It's only money, as you say, I've got so much time and money invested in it already, and surely there's nothing else to go wrong after these?! LOL :lol:

J999 MNY, ULYSSES M18 VVT with ITB's Dyno tested at 130hp
Pickup/tipper, R7me gearbox & 6.4 Rocklobster, 31" Toyo MT, 2x ARB air locker 3.9 diffs in braced axles, 6" total lift, Floating rear conversion, Raptor painted, CB, Recaro's, Caged, etc, etc...

It looked really good scooting along the lanes. The yellow roof bars were handy for spotting where it was in over the hedge. Nothing appeared to challenge it and you even survived without cuts & bruises (though some of the later lanes of the day might have been tricky with no windows)
Bit of a Boogie weapon that thing. I cant wait to see the fancy winch setup in action. The head gasket isnt a big thing, as Lambert says. And as you say... its the only thing to finish ironing out issues. Get the friendly garage to sort out the idle control valve and PS, its a new car then
