Just looking at design / styling cues...
The rear diagonal brace replicates the upper edge of the soft-top's little triangular window, so much so I've left the front edge of the window frame in place, it then tries to look a bit like the EX rear stay, but obviously a lot longer. Sourcing the ellipical tube was fun, but I found some in the end! The spare wheel is in a similar place, but angled the other way to improve rear visability...
The bonnet shape and edge (made from oval steel tube bent to suit) has been inspired from staring at the EX, on my first attempt at a Jimny buggy I cut the five oval holes off the original Jimny bonnet, but in this one I left them on, partly so it still resembles it's Jimny donor, and secondly for ease of build. The light bar is a bit of a modern nod to the EX's spotlights... they'd soon be ripped off greenlaning though!
The (half-)door shape is a nod towards the UTV's shape... the EX shape would be no good for protecttion from side impacts and the ingree of water when fording streams and rivers, so my Buggy was formed to be a bit more water-tight for our weather and fording ability... and safety / passing inspections...
BIG seats filling the cab!
Wheels and wheel arches... as best as I can copy with alternative available materials... the wheels are 16" Grand Vitara alloys, the arches are reasonably priced lorry mudguards cut in two so that I can make two out of one, so cheap and easily replaced if (when!) they get damaged...
Not much of a comparison to the front.. I did think of cutting the front edge of the mudguards / wheel arches back / higher to give it more of a buggy look...
Mine is solid axle of course, and the EX is IFS...
The bumper-ette had to be considerably wider on mine to cover the chassis ends, etc... and house a number plate which they don't need in the USA, and it also had to have headlights of course, so I opted for the JCB complete unites... Amd the width of the radiator, the chassis rails (with the winch rope tube on top) are alo constraints...
So it's a nod to the design cues of the other two buggies I've taken inspiration from, but building around a Jimny underneath...

Yes, I wrongly assumed it would need a spacer on top of the rear offside spring...
