Roger - indeed, the seats are completely flat at the bottom and come with generic sliding mounts, but mine are sitting on the cutdown Jimny subframes with flat bars to mount them on -Roger Fairclough wrote: I liked the look of the seats and emailed the dealer but unfortunately none of the seats have the facility to take seat belt mountings. I would like to change the standard Gen.4 seats as they have poor support. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions
Cheers
Roger
The seat belt clip is then mounted to the subfrane -
With a 12mm bolt with a spacer sleeve to errr, space it out a little, and to let it move front to rear a little...
So it's do-able...

THANKS PaulPaul_sterling wrote: Looks phenomenal Dave, really really nice work.
I'd love something like that (and do want to one day build an Ecoboost powered Jimny, but I won't start unless I've got a clear pathway to the finish), but life consistently gets in the way, you've managed to find a groove which works for you and built a brilliant machine in the process. Well done mate.
Paul.

The timing was weird... I sold the other two Jimnys in January through neccesity at the time

It's also been on my bucket list for many years, this is my fifth buggy build attempt, and obviously this one is going to be finished this time

I'm also itching to get back to greenlaning when all the madness is over

Thanks for your kind words!
Dave

I was furloughed for 3 months, and in that time I managed to get a tractor which has been stood for 4 years with a burst hydraulic pipe, repaired and sold, and finally managed to get a Nuffield (lifes ambition), and also get serious into 3D printing model railway locomotives, particularly for the Lambton project which I started a couple of years ago. Moreover, I got a lot of the building work done on the house, and got to spend time with my Son, so in that respect, 2020 was a big success.
Conversely, I know its cliched, but I have also had periodic struggles with depression (largely once I got back to work though, rather than due to Furlough), and that has got worse as the year rolled on, and ended on a very sore note when our workshop and smallholding was burgled 3 days before Christmas, So i'm back trying to rebuild it, and myself now.
Cheers, Paul.

Sorry to read the last paragraph, I know there's a lot of people had issues because of Covid / restrictions / living through it...
Hopefully we're getting towards the end of it...

As soon as I am mobile enough to work, I will measure the Suzuki seats and compare them to the Bad Boys. If that works out OK I will look at making suitable brackets to take the seat belt fitting and go from there.
