Surprisingly, I managed to sneak away from the shop today, so I had a bit of a potter in the garage...
Mirror guards finally fitted! :woohoo:
And then...
Refitted the scuttle panel too
I might have tomorrow morning off too! :woohoo: Our member of staff with the bad back is back in, and I'm hopefully splitting the day with the missus, so that she gets the afternoon to prep ready for the big day..

Hmmm... I managed to get a couple of hours off on Christmas Eve afternoon, and I only opened the shop from 7am to 1pm today (Boxing Day) so I managed another couple of hours pottering in the garage this afternoon..
.... and managed to get the front all re-assembled! :woohoo:
(Note the sidebar is loose as it's still being painted - another couple of coats tomorrow)
Snorkel on! (not plumbed up under the bonnet yet though)
Top of the wing detail, all the stainless steel bolts are in "countersunk" recesses
Snorkel disappearing through the wing detail
Another little job... I'd emailed Martin for a price on wiper arms, as the rest of the front of the buggy was either shiny or new, it seemed a shame to use the old wiper arms... Shocked at the price of new ones...
.. so the arms have had been sanded down and had two coats of plack smoothrite paint applied :woohoo:
Another day in the garage tomorrow I think... after I've flown to Cash & Carry first thing in the morning... they open at 9am, so I'll be waiting for them

More good work! Though taking time off isn't a crime.

Thanks Lambert ^^^ comments above, I didn't do much today
I got up early to get to Cash & Carry when they opened at 9am, so I was back for 10am, unloaded the GeeVee, had a cooked breakfast, and then took the dogs for a nice walk down the river...
And then a fellow Jimny owner I've been chatting with on Facebook popped round for a good natter, a look at the buggy and to collect a breather kit for his Jimny...
And then I had another couple of hours in the garage...
Repainted wiper arms reassembled with new blades (which I bought off a fellow member on here from the for sale section) and refitted...
And then you may have noticed in some of the previous photos, I'd taken the mounting bolts off the sidebars and replaced them with some 8" bolts to hold the sidebars out away from the bodywork as I paint them...
So they had a second coat today...
Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday Monday (in-lieu of Boxing Day falling on a Saturday) so my shop is only open 7am to 1pm again, so I'll give them the final third coat of paint tomorrow...
