Bit more today...

I wanted to get the seats out before they got burnt with welding and grinding...

A little bit of work on them first, as where the original seat belt anchroages were on the subframes were in the way of the seats fitting properly... so I cut the mounts ff flush with the rails, and then drilled a new hole lower down on the rail and used some seamless tube as a spacer to get the seatbelt clips further out, and bolted them on with 12mm bolts washers and nylocs.. and then painted them...

And then bolted the seats back on firmly, and finally...

Popped them in one of our delivery cages to store behind the shop out of the way for now ;)

I then turned my attention back to the already-cut bonnet edge, and experimented with some oval tube I had ordered and stored in the garage,,,

I cut slits in the back of it and manipulated it until it sat right...

And then..

Welded it in place and ground and sanded it back... there's a few welding distortions in the bonnet skin :( But it'll do! It's only an offroad buggy for some summer fun! And it will eventually be brush painted as it will only get scratched anyways! ;)

Not too bad... some thick yellow JCB paint is standing by for the final finish!

I've just re-read this from start to finish and realised I'd missed a few bits. You've really achieved quite a bit on this Dave.

I'm loving the sides where you've filled in the cut down doors and the Vector winch set up is coming along nicely.

NOTHING today! :(

I was out Friday night to one of the wife's friends, and the husband had a full bar/pub in the back garden?! So we rolled home at 2am, and I then got up at 5:30am to do the papers, and worked until 8pm... Both of our daughters were home for the weekend before leaving together this afternoon for a few days in Barcelona, so I couldn't really abandon them and retreat to the garage...

So, a nice lie-in, family cooked breakfast, wave them off just after noon, so spent a couple of hours updating eBay listings, a nap for a bit, an hour in the hot tub, and about to have chicken dinner with the missus, now we're "home alone"!

A bit more relaxed about stuff at the moment

Dave ;)
