That must have been a hell of a rust hole, half the body seems to be missing!

I do not think I have ever seen a Norwegian Jimny that rusty. I suspect they get a better coating on import.

Picked up a grand vitara 16" wheel today from a scrap yard on the way home to try. Pretty keen on the look of it, so for £70 for 5 i will go back and get the rest methinks.





Tyres are ok on some of them so will do for an MOT. Need stripped and refurb'd really, but will do. Unsure what if any offset they are. They fit onto the front and dont catch on anything (maybe different under cornering load and when the trim/bumpers are back on).



So a bit of maths on the tyre size shows the following:

16" vs original 205/70r15 = 3% larger diameter and 14.8% wider.
Compared to the ever popular 215/75r15 = -2.2% diameter and +9.4% wider
and for a laugh compared to J999MNY's 31" = -12.6% diameter and -11.4% width

So i would expect this to make little to no difference for acceleration/gearing, but give much wider tyres with a smaller sidewall. That should improve road manners a little, though could result in spray up the sides of the car.

Joined the three skins together at the cut line and been busy putting the back together from bits chopped off...
