Cool, It's like winning the lottery... only different.... really different....

I used to build tipping bodies and compactors with tipping mechs for the bins, a bit of an insiders guess I suppose....

Started bending more pipe to make the cage come over the roof and down the sides. Not too bad (apologies for the poor pics). More messing about tomorrow :-)

Some pics in better light. Had to remake the passenger side bar over the door after ballsing up the gob cut onto the rear hoop

Finally got it on and happy enough with it.

Next was starting on the bottom rockslider bar part of it. Cut some 50x50x3 box to fit and trimmed the bits of cage sticking down. Some spot welding to allow me to shift it about for alignment. Made up some bent arms to connect that to the chassis with some large spreader plates for bolting onto the rockslider bars. Actually managed to get a half decent weld on one of them as well

Then a little bracket to attach to the original roof bar mounting points (well the front ones at least  ). Nice thick bit of rubber cut and put under it as well. Pretty sturdy now. The cage will easily be strong enough to use as a jacking point.

still want to put a brace bar above the windscreen to link both side bars together, but need to do the rockslider bar and mounts on the driver side. Also thinking about a bar to come along the top of the front wings and connect to the bumper (brush bars).

I might be coming to you if I ever get really serious about track days and need a cage!
