Repairs day today then...
I stripped the old panhard rod mount off, and found the 3mm stick steel of the 4"x2" box section I used back in July to make the repair had been torn in two just before the welds, so this time I used some 6"x4" box which is 6mm thick, and rather than try and rescue the old mount, I made a new one out of some 4"x2" box section that had already been cut in nalf length ways when I was making a batch of shock spacers...
On, painted, reassembled...
A few more little jobs to do, and one outstanding There's a graunchin noise coming from the back near side... suspect it's the wheel bearing on the way out, so I'll pop the shaft out on Sunday for a look...

I sat down tonight with a beer and worked back through this build thread looking to see when the rear wheel bearings were lsat changed... looks like May 2018 when the front diff was rebuilt without the damaged LSD, and all the wheel bearings and seals were changed at the same time... and a JimnyBits rear HD prop was fitted...
So based on that, and it's history after that - below - I think it could well be time to change the rear wheel bearngs... I'll ordere some tomorrow for overnight delivery for fitting Sunday.... Hopefully?!

All things being equal I guess that 18 months is not bad for a wheel bearing given your level of modification and use. I would be horrified if it were Dreadnaught going through bearings like that but our cars are at extreme opposite ends of the spectrum.

Why haven't the two big Jimny suppliers got rear ABS bearings? I've had to order a pair from Japanese 4x4 Parts...!
