S200KYS is due it's MOT, it's booked for Saturday morning, so time to sort a few things out -

Replaced the rear offside light that was smashed last 'laning trip... Hmmm, bit of a job as the tree bars are in the way, three years on to discover it!, so I loosened the door hinges off to slip the old light out and the new one in  Thanks to James J999PRE Priestley for the replacement light! :)

Properly spaced 'plates on... ;)

The offside rear ABS sensor wire I snapped in two whilst welding up the axle brackets a few weeks ago gets replaced with one from James J999PRE Priestley once again - thanks matey! ;)

The hole in the nearside sill was cleaned up and chased back to solid metal... :(

And a patch with folded edges made, so I could weld off the seam and not burn through the sill as much as using just a thin single edge...

As the hole is behind the sill bars I couldn't get a drill powered wire brush or the angle grinder in, so I ended up using the Dremmel! :)

All welded up and undersealed with Hammerite tar paint.

And then reattached the back edge of the front nearside Defender wheel arch that had a fight with a tree on the last 'laning trip...

Whilst I was doing that a friendly carrier turned up for a nosey and a chat, and had an odd shaped parcel for me...

Sitting a bit high yet, it needs trimming down to suit...

A headlight protection bar and a place to attach tree wires off, as I've already cracked the windscreen top and bottom on the nearside... I'd already been round a week ago to check whether it would fail the MOT on the cracks, but they assured me they wouldn't as they were out of the sweep area and not X% of the surface area of the screen?...

Bottom crack

Top crack (strangely done on the same 'lane on different trips!!!)

The bent tube came from Tom the Pipe-Bender fella on eBay, he'll bend anything up to a drawing... I was going to try it myself as I have a pipe bender, but it's complicated getting the two kinks in the other plane to the two bends on the ends, so rather than waste tube, I thought I'd leave it to the experts, everyman to his own job ;)

So, I hope it's now ready for it's MOT, time will tell, fingers crossed ;)

Tidy little repairs :-)

Like the headlight bar. Rather than trimming it down, why dont you drill a hole in the top of the bumper, slide it down and weld in. be even stronger if you get it through the bottom of the bumper & weld as well ;-)

Maybe these things are why the springs are sagging?

Suggested project 2018: S200KYS diet, starting jan 1st!

Be careful with the tree wires as I'm not sure they are legal on a road car?

I don't like the wires, had them on a defender and just went slack after a bit of use. :(
