Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

23/03/09 - Jimny "Death Wobble" - UPDATED

If you have owned a Jimny for any amount of time you will have come across the "Death Wobble". As you accelerate through 30-40 mph the steering wheel starts to wobble and this can rapidly become un-controllable to the point where it is dangerous. But it doesn't happen everytime and most of the time you can accelerate through it. On the way back from Oxley's Shaw mine started to do it. The problem can be caused by a number of problems:

1. Front Kingpin Bearings worn

2. Front Wheel Bearings worn

3. Steering arm/axle bent.

Sure enough, when I got home and jacked it up it looked like it was time for a new Kingpin bearing. As I also had a clicking CV joint, I decided to strip the lot down. However when I got it apart the Kingpins were fine. Feeling with my fingers I could just detect a slight movement in the wheel bearing. I took the wheel bearing out (see my guide) and found out something really strange......

16/03/09 - Trying out the RockLobster

We had a bit of an ad-hoc opportunity to try out the new Transfer Box this weekend as TV4x4 Club held a Training Day for beginners. This event is a restricted entry day just for beginners to try off-roading in a less pressured environment than a full meet. As James is just starting to drive he qualifies as a beginner so along we went, whilst it was his aim to practice his driving it was my aim to try out the car before Hogmoor.

22/09/09 - National 4x4 Show 2009

We travelled up to the National 4x4 show today, this was held a Donnington Park near Derby so was just under a 2 hour trip for us.

It was a pleasant day out and we managed to catch up with a number of people. Saying hi for the first time to Andy, Richard Wattam, Dave (Bits4Vits) and Richie, all from Shropshire Suzuki.

Jimnys featured on a number of stands.....
