Landrover yuck hope he has got spare diffs could be in a bit of bother with ratios as well unless he can get a crawler box for a vit
just had quick search looks like he may have gone from a 5.12:1 to 3.54:1 totally the wrong way for big tyres dont know for defo but think vits have always been in the 5:1 area even early 8v ones hence the old SJ swap

nice I like that a lot & don't worry about the diffs they will be fine on a Suzuki I run disco axles on my vit with 37's & they been great.
as said above though the gearing could be a issue if its running standard transfer box

Yep I tried telling him. He's one of these people that think all things land rover are the best. His only thing in his favour is that it's the v6

There are
crawler gears for a Vitara transfer box
, but the highside of the transfer box is 1:1, so he'll have to blank off the back of the gear box and graft in a Sammy transfer box to alter the gearing to suit the new final drive (R&P) ratios in the landy axles...
When I had Superzuki on 35"s (photo from Tom's Farm, RIP Tom) I had a Sammy box installed by Rob Storr, the gearing was about right with 5.125 early Vit R&Ps in, but as (the other) Dave said above, the Landy axles final drive ratio is rather different...
