I've got a 2a as well, 1967 restored it in the early 80's and trialled in it then.
I wanted to get back into the trialling but wanted a road going motor, the 2A would have needed four new tyres, a wee bit if welding and the brakes re plumbed ( I don't think "fiddle"brakes are road legal!)and the wife wanted something to drive to work in the snow and my daughters are getting close to driving age so the Jimny option ticked all three boxes and the 2A's still sat in the garage!
Bought mine from Newcastle off ebay at the start of november last year, went down with the cash and drove it home no problem. I've had a whole saeson trialling, four orienteering events and now two snowy spells and so far it's only cost me about £2K.
Cheers
John.
PS Feughside near Banchory just at the bottom of the famously closed for snow for three weeks Banchory to Fettercairn road.
On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

I decided to boot it up a little bit on a corner ( country road and I had scoped it out for traffic, 2 mile straight either side )
she span and slid a little, not exactly uncontrollable tbh, infact a lot better than the merc sports estate 09 plate I had ( also rwd )
looking at things to buy for her now lol..... looking at air deflectors, lifts ( i cant help it after seeing so many on here that look so good.....but it looks like a major job to lift with cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-body-lift-kit-SUZUKI-JI...&hash=item1e5fbce5ab
anyone got any recomendations? ( not used for serious offroading, mainly snow clearance )
