Keithy gave me the bars
He made them and yes i get quite a bit of noise
It's more like a hum than whistle

I'll borrow this idea and make some myself, only with 1" tubing (I guess it will make less noise?).

lol mine are 3/4" box section ;)
i wished i had tried them without the added chain links but not sure if they had to the noise
only consolation is they hum in harmony with my tyres :woohoo:

i think round bar could work for minimum noise

Chain links are a must, they really add to the "bling" :D

I planed to make them out of 1" 2mm tubing but local hardware store only has 1" 3mm tubing so they should weigh a "hefty" 1.83 kg each if my math is right.

My roof rack made a humming noise until I added some spot lights and it's gone quiet now, if you do make them maybe you add something to stop the noise I suppose it's about changing the air running past them, it might not even be the same noise on another jimny ;)

Love those roof bars, Jack, direct fit to the original rail mounts...perfect for my kayak :woohoo: Are they a one-off of your own making?

Gus;)
