The Jimny was safely delivered to South West Transmissions this morning

The next time I see it, it will have a fully rebuilt gearbox, a new clutch and a smaller bank balance

All's well that ends well.

Collected the Jimny today, from South West transmissions in Exeter
They've reconditioned the gearbox and fitted a new Exedy clutch kit.

Drives like a new one and I'm very pleased with it.

Cost was £1230 including VAT, with 12 months warranty on the work.
Not exactly cheap, but I've seen reconditioned boxes at £1100 sold on an exchange basis, and they won't ship until they get the old one.

Great to hear, there was at least one company selling refurbished gearboxes where the refurbishment was just a coat of paint

I think I'd have known if they'd just painted this one Martin
It was making a hell of a racket.

All still good and performing as it should.
Bit of a financial kick in the nuts, but over that now
