Hi everyone, I’m currently in the process of welding my 2002 Jimny. I’ve nearly completed the boot floor, now I’m starting to turn my attention to the sills.
After a quick run over with an angle grinder, I was left with the following mess. Not a pretty sight!
I’m still fairly new to welding and metal fabrication, so I haven’t decided how tackle this yet. I was hoping to leave the outer sills alone as these look ok, but now I’m starting to think about cutting them out just to give better access to the inner sills.
Anyone able to share photos of past repairs or even words of advice, as I’m in need of some inspiration!

Welcome to the forum. Many parts of the shell are still available from Suzuki. If you send Martin a message via the shop at the top of the page he will be able to tell if he can get them for you.

How is your repair going? I just started my battle with rust and sills are next on my list after rear floor.
