Hi all, now I know my Jimmy's not moved much lately ( Gen 4 ) but the other day I went to use the windscreen washers and and this gooey mess came out of the jets, best described as 'politely' wall paper paste or antibacterial gel! The tank is full of the non smelling clearish stuff.
Anyone else had this discharge?

Who put the windscreen cleaner into the bottle and do you know what it is?

Not much help I appreciate, but when I got mine, I ran the screen wash down until it was finished and replaced it with stuff that I had used in the past.

I’ve had the car a year so it’s the original stuff Suzuki put in it, it’s never been refilled

This gel is often a build-up of algae. I have seen suggestions of leaving vinegar or Jeyes Fluid overnight in the washer bottle, then flushing it through.
A winter concentrate of screenwash with plenty of alcohol in it should prevent the problem coming back.

I have had the same problem with Dreadnaught, I used some screen wash from eurocarparts.com because it was cheap and it's evidently reacted with the last fluid I had in. It works, it just looks a bit grim. When I need to replace it I'll have the bottle out and give it a thorough clean.

Sounds like cheap screenwash.
The VW screenwash is very good but isn't cheap. You do get what you pay for though. I work at a Skoda dealer and we get loads of people using cheap stuff which blocks up the washer jets.

I use Halfords concentrated screen wash combined with a heater ( works off heater hose ).
