Want to make my Jimny sound a little better.....

Hi guys,

The exhaust back box of my Jimny is about to fall off and I'm wanting to replace it with something that's going to make the Jimny sound like it's got a bit more grunt than it actually has.

I'm quite liking the noise it's making at the moment (and so's my son!) so if anyone has any recommendations on what to fit (keeping the price as low as possible) then please let me know.

Cheapest option? Cut it off and replace it with nothing... Haha

And how noisy is that??
I like the idea of a small straight box on the back.

I must be getting old as all I want it peace and quiet!

If it were a V8 it might be different but a 1300cc is never gonna sound propa! Innit!

+1 :-)

Like Honda 600 Shadow bikers, trying to get their engine to sound like a Harley Davidson.

Mine's got the centre box off our pug 307 which is a smallish oval box, sounds OK and was free!
Take a visit to your local exhaust place and see what's in their skip!

On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

I decided against a loud sounding engine .. because it made it seem like my Jimny was struggling more than it actually was .. plus it's great to see the Land Rover owner's faces when you toodle around silently .. while they have to hear how much fuel they're burning trying to follow you! ;)

Although saying that, my Jimny is currently very much stock. Once i've got some meaner tyres etc... I might then give it the bark that it deserves!
