Has anyone had any issues with these tyres failing MOT as my Jim has just failed on illegal tyres, the tester said the sidewall states 'off road use only' (infact it just states off road), he said he couldnt do the brake function test since the aggressive tread pattern tricks the test machine into thinking the brakes are juddering.

Any comments much appreciated.

put your standard wheel on just for the mot

and sand off the off road on the tyres then if you get stoped by the police thay wont see it and he is right about failing it on the info on the tyre and the brake tester my pick it up as in balance not brake judder as the rolers dont roll that fast

had the sam eissue with the Diamond backs on ooky, they were marked Race Use only too.
wheel swap for MOT usually did the trick, however I know the Some of the other Simex copies are legal for road use

I am a specialist brake tester engineer and there is no reason that special tracs cannot be used. I also have special tracs on my jimny.

Put a strip of electrical tape over the 'off road use'...

Legally, MOT testers cannot remove anything from the vehicle so if he cant see it, he cant fail it.

Trust me, has worked for over 10 years of getting illegal motorcycle exhausts thru MOTs!

Insa turbo special tracs are perfectly road legal so no need to cover anything up.

your wrong we can remove thing from the car on test ie fuel cap, any thing stuck to the screen/mirror causing an odstruction any trim panel the only thing you cant do is use tools to remove any thing ie engine covers/trims
as for the tape on the tyre id remove it due to it may be hiding damage to the side wall
