this is for martin, not sure if you remember the noise coming from the front axle.well i have just got round to investigating the cv joints and on the way i came across a damaged kingpin bearing so it appears to be that cv joint is fine.procedure was carried out with ref to your how to section [very good] however i have made a mistake concerning the kingpin bolts.i have read it wrong and seperated the actual bolts themselves as not to get them mixed up.it appears this is incorrect should have marked the actual keepers top and bottom, why is it a problem if they are mixed, they look the same.will mixing them cause damage.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

They are the same part top and bottom. Its just "good practice" when re-fitting used parts that they should go back in the same position/orientation as they will have developed a "wear pattern" from the previous use.
It will probably make little difference.
