Is it difficult to replace the heater core in a 2000 Jimny? Mine erupted tonight on the way home from work, sending water out onto the passenger side of car. Too dark to look at now but will get to it on the weekend. Haven't found any instructions on the net yet and was hoping someone else has gone through the prob and kept notes.

Got quote from Frankston Suzuki to supply and fit new heater core. $551 for the core  and approximately $800 to fit :woohoo:

Anyway, have booked it in for the 18th July to have the work done. Price seems very high but got more or less the same figures from other Suzuki dealers.

In the meantime I ordered and received a plug-in ceramic heater that plugs into the cigarette lighter and provides 150w of heating to at least defrost the windscreen and take the bite out of this cold Victorian winter. The little device works surprisingly well actually. The small cabin of the Jimny probably helps too.

there's some cheap ones available on the UK market, but feedback is they're pretty rubbish.
