Morning ... It depends on the sort of driving you will be doing .
Dakars are quite aggressive and you may feel that they are a little vague on the road. also road noice will be noticeble.
as for offroad, yes, they will be fine.

You need to ask yoruself how much on road use you will be doing

I was considering a spare set of wheels, am I right in thinking that vitara 15in & Diahatsu are ok for a standard Jimny, eaiser to get then Jimny wheels from a breakers yard.

Cheers

Should be fine, Daihatsu usually have more offset i.e. stick out more and can usually be found in 7" width rather than the 5.5" of the std jimny rims. I know I'm miles away but your more than welcome to arrange a carrier to collect these wheels of mine, be better out of my way, they have some baldish tyres on them though.
best of all theyre free! :cheer:

So, whats the crack with the offset rims then?? Can you fit a set to a standard truck? I've been thinking about a set but wondered if theres any problems with crushing the arches?

yes, easier to catch your arches on wider wheels.

Wonder if 6J eight spokes or modulars would be an issue with the right tyres? I've seen one lately with some white eight spokes on but it doesn't look like it gets muddy often so it may not be an issue to them, not sure on the width either i saw it on a driveway.
I like the standard rims but they would look so much better with just a slightly deeper dish.

its getting the right offset too though, when ive bought rims for a jimny before ive only been able to get the ones with Daihatsu offset (dealer swears theyre right...lol), look great , but you'll be cutting arches!
