Whatcha.
I need to repaint the feet to my roof bars. I have some por15 black arriving imminently as it's about as good as it gets. However I have a question, has anyone successfully used it in an airbrush? My airbrush is capable of pushing most paint however thick as it is a model often used for doing nail varnish which is kinda like glue going off what the wife has done. I don't really want to go brush finish as me and brushed paint tend to look like an infant gibbon was employed whereas I have some skills at spraying. Secondly some of the reviews seem to suggest that por15 is not entirely happy with long term uv exposure which on roof bars is unavoidable so I was thinking of doing a colour coded or close enough top coat to protect the protection, having not had sight of the tin yet is there any known reaction to normal halfords rattle cans paint from the por15?

A dabbing / tapping motion with the tip of the brush can make for a pretty OK finish of the coating.
It is a bit like when doing house repairs or upgrades, there is allways the two alternatives:
- 1 Lower your standards.
- 2 Move out.
Mostly UV as you say so i guess any paint would do compared to the other.

Ok so having had time to get on with it, the por15 is spraying fine from my airbrush and it's taking very little paint to cover which works for the multiple light coats it recommends on the tin. I'll probably give it 4 and a top coat. It appears to be xylene based which is pleasant so it's now a matter of finding a suitable similar base charcoal or anthracite top coat?
