Osram do an LED replacement H4 headlamp bulb, that depending on where you are, is certified as "street legal" in the Jimny.

Which one is better depends on your needs - a good quality spot lamp will have greater "reach" than any headlamp (LED or not), if reach is what you need.

I assume you have an SZ4 or commercial Gen.4 which have Halogen headlamps. I have anSZ5 and can vouch for the LED lamps that are standard. You don't really need auxiliary lamps. I believe that converting a Halogen lamp to LED is illegal in the UK because the original lamp is "E" marked for Halogen not LED, but as fordem has pointed out, this ruling will only apply in Europe.

In the UK and quite a bit of the EU you cannot legally fit a LED bulb in place of of a halogen in any external light, the light fitting has to be designed for the LED bulb.

It’s a shame because the LED replacement bulbs are so much better in terms of light quality. So if you want to stay legal you will have to fit spot lights or driving lights, or change the whole reflector and lens.

Keep a close eye on the Osram NightBreaker LED bulbs, as far as I know, they are not yet legal in the UK, but Osram are slowly having them certified as acceptable in more countries in Europe - the list when I checked yesterday, was longer than when I first learned about them mid last year..  There's no guarantee that they will ever be legal in the UK, but having used them in  right hand drive vehicles and seen the results, I think it's just a matter of time.
