Whine in 4th gear was created by Rothbury1
Hi all, hoping this is not covering old posts, but I have a 2022 gen4 manual Jimny that has done 6000 kms.
It is starting to develop a whine from where I think is the gearbox, maybe the transfer case.
It starts under load in 4th gear at 2500 to 3000RPMS then slowly disappears as the throttle is reduced, there's no discernible noise when cruising at 100kmph./62mph
It's now due for its first, under warranty service, which includes an engine and filter change.
Any suggestions or comment will be appreciated about the noise...maybe it's just a Jimny noise to be tolerated?
We also gave a 20015 manual  gen3 at 80000 with no noise.

The motor is still under warranty, so anything out of the ordinary should be reported to your local Suzuki dealer.

If the gear whine is specific to a gear and rpm, it's most likely a gearbox issue, if it's specific to road speed it's going to be transfer case or differentials.

As has been said already, it's under warranty, report it to the dealer and have it looked at.
