Well it's a tiny car, narrow, quite tall, with soft tyres and soft suspension. Given that the very biggest of vehicles carry barely twice that I think the weight limit is appropriate. The Frontrunner racks are a poor choice, not at all suited to the Jimny.
The maximum roof load for the Jimny is 30kg. The Frontrunner rack weighs 25kg. It's a bad option if you intend to carry stuff on the roof and want to stay within the vehicle's capabilities.great thanks. I Will probably leave it and fit a Roof rack, the front runner looks decent?
that's nothing, madness
will get it painted then

Fortunately, in the "Jimny Pricing" thread on this forum, I see a dealer selling a Jimny with a roof rack and roof tent on it. Therefore I would contact this dealer and tell him how pleased you are to see him underwrite the use of roof tents

Anyone know anything about insurance for the Jimny Commercial - it doesn't appear to come up on any of the insurance sites - do you just use the SZ4 option and say 2 seats?

Re insurance - When I tried insuring my Commercial last month DVLA had not sorted its classification so my usual insurers (SAGA and LV) could not quote me cover. I had to go to an insurance broker and probably paid a significant premium.

I went for SZ4 with 2 seats - Adrian Flux
I told them it was the commercial and they went down the list and said SZ4 with 2 seats, so I didnt argue as I had told them what it was and if they choose different thats up to them.

Re insurance, I found Admiral offered a very good quote for my Jimny LCV, sub £250. I doubt you will get underwritten on a quote based on an SZ4.
NB, If you use a comparison site make sure you search for van insurance.

I'm actually insuring mine as commercial / lgv through the business.
The insurer demanded to see photos of the back cargo area.
As it's such a new model they are all miffed

Why not wrap the roof , would be cheaper than perminately spraying the roof!

hello peeps - I'm lurking on the fringes, the force is strong and pulling me back ....
I've been looking at buying a new Suzuki Vitara SZ5 Hybrid AWD with extras and paint to my spec for £25,774 (£3000 off promotion)
But at the garage I noticed a Suzuki Jimny Commercial ALLGRIP 1.5 2021 (21 reg) hearing aid beige for £25,999
Obviously I had to sit inside the Jimny for old times sake (as you would) ........... big mistake, I'm now back in love with Jimnys, but would first have to remove the bulkhead and maybe lengthen the seat rail (looks like I could sell it for a few bob?) ....
whats the 1.5 engine like, can you notice the power, acceleration difference ?
STOP ..... my head says forget the Jimny, use your head, look at the fantastic vitara you can get for less money
OMG - now I can't sleep
might just have to let the missus choose, she actually liked the Jimny (strange she wouldn't drive the old one, think it was too high for her to climb into and too wobbly and crashy on the road LOL
